Jazz Mafia Strings Groupmuse

Jazz Mafia Strings is presenting a mostly non-classical string quartet program at an undisclosed outdoor location in Oakland on Sunday, November 7th, at 4PM, in collaboration with Groupmuse! Groupmuse is a company that organizes chamber music performances in people's homes, or "chambers," and other cool locations. Because of the pandemic, we've had to get creative about finding safe performance areas, and in Oakland, we're very lucky to have several beautiful outdoor options.

The way it works is you reserve your spot(s) at Groupmuse.com and the day of the event, you're sent the location of the performance.

As for the performance itself, Shaina Evoniuk, Michelle Walther, Keith Lawrence, and Lewis Patzner, are performing pieces in a variety of styles, written and arranged by themselves and other illustrious members of the Bay Area non-classical string community, including Mads Tolling, Irene Sazer, and Ariel Wang. In accordance with Groupmuse standards and practices, at least half of the repertoire will be "historical," so get ready for fun music by Stevie Wonder, Astor Piazzolla, Pixinguinha, and more!
